I had heard about chakras before I made this piece. I knew there were various colors and “powers”. I had just finished doing a piece on the color wheels and was curious what other systems were in the world and presented a different set of colors. So, I looked up the chakras. I made the piece and put it by the gate to my yard. One day, a more spiritual friend saw it for the first time and said, “Hey, the chakras!” So, there are people in the world attuned to these color sets. Yeah!
Chakra Mandala

The chakras and my interpretation of what they mean:
Muladhara – red. This is the lower chakra. Also called the root chakra.
Svadhishthana – orange. This is the sexual chakra.
Manipura – yellow. Belly button.
Anahata – green. Heart.
Vishuddha – blue. Throat.
Ajna – purple. Third eye or intuition.
Sahasrara – indigo. Crown or pure consciousness. Where the soul leaves the body after death

This chakra has a more energetic, kaleidoscope-like design.
It’s so busy that it’s plain.
